All Points West Distillery New Jersey, Guide & Review
This place is an unassuming hole in the wall that’s located near Penn Station in Newark. It has a bit of everything in terms of spirits and cocktails. Named after the Jersey Central Railroad that connected Ellis Island to ‘All Points West’, they offer a distinctly American take on Old World distilling traditions. Historic techniques from the Netherlands, Ireland, Scotland, and Britain – which enabled immigrants from those countries to find dozens of successful distilleries and breweries throughout the region (including 74 in Newark alone) – are married with American approaches. The resulting spirits are innovative and crafted with care in small batches in Newark’s Ironbound, only 6 miles from America’s first distillery.
The place is great and very informative with an industrial feel to it, the drinks are delicious. All Points West Distillery features amazingly friendly & attentive bartenders;nice & personal owners; super nice & friendly staff – everyone is knowledgeable and will give you a history of distilling and it’s so interesting; and delicious cocktails – excellent cocktails with a blast-from-the-past nod to old Irish pot whiskey; and great spirits. They give you the drink menu to go so you can try to copy the drinks. The spirits made here are clean, unique, and absolutely flavorful. Great service, knowledgeable tour guide, fantastic cocktails!
