Whether you’re organizing a corporate event, a family gathering on the mezzanine level, or simply resting on the patio, the environment and service are always welcoming. Barluga provides everything you’re searching for. We originally only booked for drinks and booked elsewhere for lunch; lunch got canceled as we had our drinks because of the rain. We asked if we could stay longer or if there were any cancellations; the staff were helpful and accommodating and let us stay an extra 2 hours to have lunch, even though it was bustling. The atmosphere was terrific. The terrace is well heated and doesn’t feel like you are outside; they also provided us with blankets. We were served by Sarah, who was just so friendly and attentive.
We will be back. I loved it! After a disaster at another restaurant, it was nearly 5 pm when five of us arrived at Barluga without a booking. No problem – get a drink, and a table will be ready in a few minutes, which it was. Two of us ordered slow roast pork – lots of vegs and a great Yorky (hot, not too big, soft at the bottom) – and a thick slice of silky pork that melted in the mouth (£12). Proper gravy came separately, plus apple sauce. We sat outside on the upper terrace, which had been beautifully set up with excellent coverage for when it inevitably rained and heaters if needed. I can see they have blankets available etc. too. Brilliant and attentive service and never sat ran out of drinks. The dinner was delicious, as were the service and beverages. The service was friendly. The extensive drinks list was welcome.
