Beaux San Francisco, Guide & Review

Beaux, the French word for “boyfriends,” is one of Castro’s premier LGBTQIA+ venues. Now open fully seven days and nights a week with no restrictions, they offer a 2-for-1 cocktail Happy hour Monday – Friday 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and a party every night of the week starting at 9:00 pm. Beaux transforms from a craft cocktail lounge by day into a full dance club with revolving themed parties at night, a few being Vamp Mondays, Pan Dulce Wednesdays, Manimal Fridays, and Big Top Sundays, which features the stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race. For those who live in town, want to dance, and are too embarrassed to be seen at Badlands or Toad Hall, there’s Beaux. It’s a little West Hollywood mixed with a bit of Millennial San Francisco, and it’s the first stop of all the Rupaul’s Drag Race stars whenever they pass through town. Wednesdays are Latin nights, Thursdays draw the biggest local crowd and are focused on  ’90s and 2000s top-forty remixes, while weekends tend to bring in LGBTQ kids (and their friends) from all over the Bay for crowded, boozy dance parties that always go ’till 2am.

Late at night, this cocktail lounge with laser-cut wood screens, distressed leather sofas, and polished brass decor at Beaux transforms into Castro’s best dance club. Themed parties take place almost nightly, including Wednesday’s Latinx Pan Dulce and Cockshot Tuesdays, where drink specials are available only to those stripped down to their skivvies. On the weekends, events like Manimal Fridays feature platform dancing go-go beasts, and no cover charge before 10:00 pm. For best views of the sweaty crowd, head upstairs to snag a seat on one of the cozy sofas. Sundays and occasional weekday nights feature drag performances from local queens and Drag Race celebs alike.

Beaux features amazingly great happy hour; awesome live entertainment; great sound system; stiff drinks; friendly and beautiful people; awesome themed nights; awesome drag shows; delicious cocktails; and state-of-art lighting system. The space and music make a good night out mostly on weekends. Highly recommended gay bar in San Francisco for amazing and unforgettable experience on your night out.
