Boondocks Houston, Guide & Review
This grungy bar that pumps out live music almost every night of the week is a Montrose standby. Boondocks is renowned as a premier music venue in Houston, and rightfully so. This Westheimer dive prides itself on the diverse blend of people and music that flood its vast two-story scene. The venue’s large and captivating sound system is what keeps people coming back (not to mention the drinks are easy on the wallet). Head upstairs to the dance floor to show off some moves. Afterward, land a seat on the patio to cool off before heading back inside.
Boondocks features cheap booze, good live music, chill vibes, friendly bartenders, a fun atmosphere, great people, creative cocktails, a large wine list, a free buffet, and awesome drinks. Boondocks Bar opens 7 days a week from 5:00 pm – 2:00 am. There is a dance hall upstairs, where they have a DJ, and everyone knows how to have fun. It isn’t very bright in the place, but the strobe lights make it seem like a party. It’s a nice place to hang out and enjoy alcohol. Friendly patrons and staff, free burgers and hot dogs on Sunday afternoons, karaoke on Sunday night, and lots of fun here.
Boondocks is definitely a great joint to just chill with like-minded people and enjoy a few beverages and music. This place is probably a new favorite. Laid-back atmosphere, nice/down-to-earth people, awesome music, and dancing! Highly recommend.
