Coach’s Bar & Grill Kansas City, Guide & Review
Chris Carle and Michael Darby started their business after working in other restaurants and bars together. Coach’s originally opened it’s doors as the Bum Steer, after a fight with Mother Nature and some serious renovations Coach’s Bar & Grill was launched in 1983 as one of the first sports bars in Kansas City. Over the years their look has changed many times, but a few things have remained the same: great service, awesome menu and plenty of TV’s to satisfy the biggest of sports enthusiasts. But then came the storms of 2017. This location flooded so badly it couldn’t be saved. In 2006 they opened a second Coach’s location in Overland Park Kansas City. This proved to be a great venture for their Coach’s family, but due to circumstances beyond their control, it became apparent that their new location could not continue where it was. So, they built a beautiful new building just west of the intersection of 135th & Antioch and moved to their new home in November of 2011.
They’re quite pleased with this move and their customers are as well. Their new facility has many of the same great features as their original. From their well known Fireplace Room, wood topped bar and sports memorabilia lining the walls, to their same great menu. Different location, same great service. All of their food is prepared fresh daily and features many mouth-watering specials like their Yankee pot roast, meatloaf and chicken fried steak. Everyday you can dine on their extensive menu that has something for everyone. Coach’s Overland Park, KS served specials menu till 10 pm, regular menu till 11 pm and late night from 11 pm – 1 am daily.
They feature a wealth of 46″ or larger LCD or LED TVs plus numerous big screens for your viewing pleasure. Each TV is capable of showing a different HD program so you will not miss any of the action. They subscribe to all the sports packages (NFL, MLB, Big Ten Network, Fox Soccer, Soccer Plus, and many more) and make a point of funding everyone’s home team – no matter where you call home. They offer free wi-fi for their guests. Coach’s Bar & Grill operates Monday through Sunday from 11 am – close. Coach’s Bar & Grill features delicious food – kitchen hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 am – 11 pm, Friday & Saturday from 11 am – 12 am, and Sunday from 11 am – 11 pm; excellent service; great atmosphere; state-of-art lighting and sound system; friendly, attentive and professional bartenders; great rooftop patio; and plenty of comfy seatings.
