Julep is a very nice cocktail bar in the uptown area of KC. What the mint julep brings to the Kentucky Derby, they bring to the historic neighborhood of Westport. A fresh spot with a little oomph. A social enhancer with an atmosphere built on camaraderie and unmatched service. An experience that mixes classic comfort with a taste of adventure, and always good till the very last drop. They’ve been slinging inventive craft cocktails since 2014, making them the longest-standing craft cocktail bar in Kansas City. They take a lot of pride in their cocktail club, including their chef-driven food menu and a whiskey list so long it requires a ladder.
What started as a simple desire to bring people together has turned into a lovely libation destination beyond our wildest dreams. They love their story. And they love yours, too. Because every creative cocktail or delicious meal is an invitation to share a great story. Or, maybe, start a new one. Julep believes in using the freshest and highest-quality ingredients they can get their hands on, which is made possible by wonderful local farmers and purveyors. They’ve been featured in the past in a variety of publications discussing their great spaces available, their extensive whiskey selection and inventive cocktail creation.

At Julep, you’ll find a carefully curated collection of whiskeys, a well-rounded list of hand-crafted cocktails, a mouth-watering list of hand-crafted menu of bold flavors and, most of all, a warm welcome. Southern hospitality meets Midwestern comfort, which means a commitment to exceptional service with a dash of hope. So, whether you’re there for an after work pick me up, a friendly catch up or a romantic meetup, they guarantee you’ll leave in good spirits.
Julep operates Wednesday to Friday 4 pm – 1 am, Saturday 1 pm – 1 am, and Sunday noon – Midnight. Julep features ample parking space – in the lot on the east end of the building. You can also find street parking in front of Julep and additional spots in the parking garage north of Westport Road on Pennsylvania; delicious handcrafted cocktails; super friendly staff; the coolest vibe in the neighborhood; excellent whiskey menu with informative descriptions of the whiskey regions; very reasonable prices; excellent service; comfy seatings; strong and tasty drinks; and relaxed cozy atmosphere. The main floor is cozy but private, and there are two private areas for parties.
Definitely a nice place to chat and enjoy cocktails and other drinks with some friends.
