Leon’s Lounge Houston, Guide & Review
Housed in one of the city’s oldest buildings with its original stained glass intact, Leon’s Lounge attracts an eclectic crowd. From the older Houston residents who’ve been coming here for years to the younger crowd being lured into the Midtown scene, this bar will always host those who enjoy the interesting but not-trendy drink selection. Bring your own records and if there’s no DJ or live stuff happening, Leon’s will let you play whatever you want. Comes in handy for those who need a place to show off their extensive collection and possibly need a cocktail to wind down from the day.
Leon’s Lounge features creative cocktails, friendly bartenders, a good band, nice drinks, chic decor, live music, a large wine list, lots of seating, appropriate lighting, state of art sound system, a fun atmosphere that is set back, good DJ, and absolutely gorgeous, a stylish interior, and cheap drinks & a large selection of liquor. Leon’s Lounge also offers daily happy hour specials and live music, on occasion, from local musicians. They’ve also revamped their drink menu, adding craft cocktails to the mix. This bar is VERY different from all of the bars in the area. This place is very different than your typical Midtown bars and for that reason, it is a diamond in the rough.
There are two rooms in the back, one of which features a piano lounge space, and another with a pool and foosball table. There’s also a great jukebox loaded with the sixties, seventies, and eighties music. Expect plenty of locally-sourced craft brews on the menu. Stop in for well-priced drinks They even offer outdoor patio seating. I would definitely add this place to your bucket list while visiting Houston.
