The Cantab Lounge Boston, Guide & Review
This place is a dive right off of the Central Square stop on Mass Ave. The Cantab Lounge is a classic dive bar with stellar live music upstairs and down! A staple of Central Square and always a good time! It’s a great place and historical live music acts have played here for decades! A forever-standing dive in Central with a legacy as long as its Chicken Slacks performance roster. One of Boston’s best dives. The Cantab is a pretty solid little venue. They seem to really pack the place upstairs with loads of revelers. Most of them seem to be having a blast.
Live music and awesome artists, and everyone eventually gets up to dance, friendly bartenders, hip fun atmosphere, dive bar, great ownership, great acoustics, live bands, great food, and a great crowd– a great mix of people–the great Cambridge social experiment. The Cantab Lounge opens Monday – Wednesday 8:00 am – 1:00 am, Thursday – Saturday 8:00 am – 2:00 am, and Sunday 12:00 pm – 1:00 am. The eclectic crowd makes for decent people watching and side convos with friends about how the hell the people in the group next to you know each other. Trust me, they’re saying the same about your crew.
The least pretentious bar in Boston. If you like beer, live bands, attractive patrons, and an all-out great time, definitely check this place out. People of all ages come here to remember what fun is! 10/10 would highly recommend it. Awesome live music and good drink prices generally awesome bar. Cheap drinks, fun people, and great live music. Very walkable from the train station at Central. The best old-school dive bar in Boston Metro. This place simply oozes personality and charm.
