The Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph is a Roman Catholic Church set in the center of downtown San Jose. The cathedral was named after Saint Joseph, the patron saint of the universal church. This is the fifth church that is there for several years as other churches are destroyed by an earthquake. Over the time several phases of restoration have been undertaken, with the most recent taking place in 1990. The Cathedral is truly attractive with amazing artwork and attention to detail.
