Looking for an awesome spot to be on your night out at De Commune then De Commune is the place to be. De Commune is an event venue situated at Phra Nakhon, Bangkok, Thailand. De Commune has successfully found and brought together a line-up of underground talents as regulars. De Commune has had successful events leading them to receive a good reception both in the underground scene and the night-life scene.
De Commune has a variety of music genres from House, Techno, Drum’n’Bass, Dub and Indie Rock. De Commune happened to be a “come together” initiative by a passionate group of people who shared common interests in starting a live house/art space/club with a caring quality for sound-system, lighting and visuals.
There are some nights when you’ll walk into experimental pulsing techno; another when you might find yourself in the middle of a mad crowd jumping around in an exciting manner. De Commune also hosts live performances by international artists making clubbers rise up for the music. Drink options are limited, but are cheap when compared to prices in other clubs in the area.
This is a proper live music venue with black painted walls, a stage for bands, a quality (loud!) sound system and a DJ deck for electronic music nights. A lucky few can grab a seat at the counter bar or a spot on a couch up on the mezzanine. But when it gets crowded, gig-goers’ best bet is to sit on the wide stairs flushed with neon red light. It also doubles up as a space for showcasing art, workshops and film screenings.
Other than regular nights’ awesome lineups, party lovers will also be entertained by the venue’s frequent exclusive events. De Commune has previously organized art exhibitions, fashion shows, and workshops, which are put on frequent rotation. It’s open between 17.00 – 02.00 on Wednesday – Sunday. Amazing music venue, awesome and enthusiastic staff, amazing selection of artists, great sound system, and a crowd that truly enjoys their music.
