Elbo Room San Francisco, Guide & Review
Elbo Room was launched in 1991 and has remained a local favorite for over 27 years. It is divided into two levels. This place has a comfy and relaxing atmosphere. Both the floors are equipped with separate bars. A stage and dancefloor are also available in the upstairs area. Lanterns, mirrors, pinball machines, pictures, and various other decoration pieces are installed here as well. Excellent lighting and sound system are available here as well, which creates an enjoyable environment.
Over the years, we have hosted various events such as the Dub Mission during which Dub, Reggae, and dancehall music was played. We ran this event for over 20 years. Along with this every month’s last Saturday, we hosted the Soul Party. During which DJ Lucky, Paul Paul, and Phengren, etc. played various soundtracks. Elbo has always supported the LGBTQ community and has hosted multiple events for them. Examples can be taken of the Swagger Like Hella Saucy and us. Both international/local artists such as Charlie Hunter, Sharon Jones, Dam Funk, DJ Logic, Sabbat, Tea Leaf, Soltron and Bayonics, etc. have been seen performing at our place.
Our bar menu is written on a chalkboard and is available at the bar. It is comprised of Craft Beers, Wine, Champagne, and House Cocktails, etc. Specialty cocktails such as Banana Caipirinha, Pomegranate Lemonade, Grapefruit Ginger Fizz, Oh Lily, Hemingway Daiquiri, Pimm’s Cup, Moskow Mule, and Rye Old Fashioned are available here as well.
Unfortunately, we had to close on January 1st, 2019; however, another branch is available in Oakland. It has a similar design to the SF version and provides excellent service. You will be hit with a deep sense of nostalgia and will be reminded of the Elbo room SF days.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your friends and visit our Oakland place now.
