It is probably the most visited cultural place in Switzerland. With a self-funded artistic budget of over 1 million francs annually, the Village du Soir offers theater, parties, concerts, contemporary art, markets, exhibitions, courses, children’s entertainment, and even more. Through its 3 rooms and terraces, all spread over 2500m2, the Evening Village is frequented by a varied audience of all generations. It is a place of life, openness, meeting and sharing anchored in the Geneva territory. It gives pride of place to local actors, while promoting Geneva through events bringing together internationally renowned artists.
The Evening Village = 2 buildings + 1 space + 3 terraces + 1 deli converted into a musical bar + 1 garage converted into a nightclub + 1 distillery for people over 28 years old + 8 bars + 1 Fiat 500 hanging on the roof + 1 industrial decor + 3 stages + 1 Big watch + 1 parking lot with 1’000 parking spaces + 2 food-trucks + 150m of graffitis. The Evening Village is located in an industrial warehouse in La Praille which will be demolished in 2022.
Get in quick to enjoy the ‘Village of the Night’, which has a five-year lease (from 2017) to repurpose an industrial site by Geneva Stadium. Until they’re turfed out, it’s the place to be for a regularly packed calendar of events including DJ nights and gigs by local and visiting bands, exhibitions, pop-up restaurants, food trucks, fun and general mayhem…okay, frivolity at the very least.
