If you want to start (or end) your night with something nice, you can always go to one of these incredible cocktail bars. Given that Birmingham is the UK’s second largest city, there is no shortage of unusual, weird, and great bars. This makes locating the finest ones quite difficult. Here are just a few of Birmingham’s top pubs, ranging from hidden gems and odd venues to those housed in magnificent structures.

52 Gas Street

This is one of Birmingham’s top cocktail bars, tucked away in Gas Street Basin. The location is a must-see for enthusiasts of vibrant concoctions, and it also provides dedicated seminars and a menu of martinis, fruity cocktails, and bubbly. 52 Gas Street has had its fair share of action over the years, first as a gun factory, then as canal stables, and is now home to one of Birmingham’s favorite local establishments. In the cozy booths, socialize, speak over a business drink lunch, or have a discreet romantic night, and feel free to kick back canalside this summer. Knowing how to draw a crowd – 52 Gas Street is, in every sense of the term, the pillar of a good time in the Mailbox/Canal Basin neighborhood. Who needs cryptic bar names?

52 Gas Street, formerly a gun factory, is located in the heart of Birmingham’s canal network on no. 52 Gas Street. In the summer, you may sip a drink while watching the canal, and when the weather turns chilly, there is live music with emerging performers. If you want to learn how to make cocktails, 52 Gas Street offers cocktail lessons starting at £25 per person. We happened to pass by this spot on our way to the larger (overcrowded and impersonal) bars and saw karaoke, so we had to stop in. It was quiet when we got there, but it became livelier as the night progressed. The drink selection was enough for a picky drinker, with DIET LEMONADE, which appears to be unavailable elsewhere.

We had beer, 2-for-1 drinks, and spirits, all of which we enjoyed. The workers were excellent, cheerful, and down-to-earth, enjoying their night at work as much as we were. The proprietors seemed to genuinely regard their employees, which you wouldn’t get in a larger chain of pubs. Even the restrooms were nice. We elected to remain and didn’t leave till bedtime, and we’d go again when we’re next in Birmingham (assuming the karaoke is still on!) Our company’s Christmas celebration was held here. Lovely setting fantastic mood. The beverages were plenty, and the meal was delicious. I’ve never eaten so well at a work Christmas party – a delicious and ample array of hot and cold food and desserts. I was pretty impressed! Many folks also loved the karaoke! 52 Gas Street was my first visit, but I would return!

One Trick Pony Club

One Trick Pony Club is a relaxed chain pub with big-screen sport, live music, and Irish-influenced food and drink menus. Moseley’s One Trick Pony Club is a lively pub passionate about substantial meals and beautiful drinks. It is one of Birmingham’s oddest bars. Step into their mural-covered courtyard for an afternoon of sipping drinks and devouring juicy burgers and delectable fried chicken. One Trick Pony Club, located in the heart of Moseley Village, is an engaging social environment featuring live music and DJs regularly. The menu has typical pub meals, juicy burgers, delectable fried chicken, and a variety of meat-free alternatives, among other things. The menu is divided into four sections: Chicken Society, Ruby Jean’s Burgers, Veg Heads, and Marvelous Pub Grub.

You may also order through Deliveroo or by phone to enjoy their delectable meals from the comfort of your own home. Cocktails, signature gins, specialty spirits, wine, beers, and ciders are available behind the bar. This trendy establishment, with an industrial and contemporary décor, is ideal for a lunch date or drinks with friends. You can reserve a sunny beer garden, a regular quiz, and party and event space. Excellent spot for a late night out on the town! I came here with my family for their free bingo night and had a fantastic time, thoroughly enjoying the bingo and the beverages!! The employees were excellent; they were attentive and kind! We were fortunate enough to go on their 2-4-1 pizza night and try four of their pizzas. Those were the Greek, chicken and chorizo, Korean bbq, and truffle shuffle, all of which were tasty, but my favorite was the truffle shuffle.

If you’re searching for something fun to do on Thursday night, we recommend coming to this spot of bingo or coming on Wednesday for their quiz night, which I have not been to but would be excited to try! From the exterior, it appears to be an evening pub/club. The staff was polite and helpful, and we could grab a water dish for our dog and a high chair for the baby. The meal was delicious. The courgette (spiralized fried and seasoned courgette) is highly recommended as a side dish. We were a group of five, and we all appreciated the meal and the atmosphere. We don’t reside in the neighborhood, but we would return if we found ourselves again.

Bar Ikigai

Bar Ikigai exudes minimalist feelings in a sophisticated and contemporary setting, making it one of Birmingham’s most upscale bars. Japanese influences everywhere, from ingredients like yuzu and miso to a love of ramen and sushi and even a minor fixation with cherry blossom. An Izakaya is a Japanese bar serving alcoholic beverages and food. These informal pubs are typically used for after-work beverages. A new bar in the Jewellery Quarter has opened up, inspired by the Izakaya tradition, and here’s why you should go to the Ikigai. As the name implies, the bar and its food are greatly influenced by Japanese culture. In the bar, they provide a variety of Japanese spirits and a thoughtful cocktail menu. The meticulously chosen cocktail menu focuses on seasonal Japanese ingredients and offers a variety of delectable, Japanese-inspired alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

The Ube Spiced Collins is an unusual and excellent example of its inaugural menu. Ube is a purple sweet potato originating from Southeast Asia that is infused with Haku vodka here. Enjoy exquisite sake, beer, and cocktails, or request a bespoke omakase-style drink created precisely to your taste from your waiter. Ikigai is a 32-seat venue hidden away in the loft space above 1000 Trades that offers table service for a selection of Japanese-themed cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. Bar Ikigai is an independently operated cocktail bar in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Ikigai aspires for a high-quality cocktail experience with a calm ambiance and courteous, attentive, and competent service. At the same time, the comfort of the black velvet seats and tiny tables maintains a comfortable, intimate vibe.

Ikigai’s minimalist architecture is the perfect backdrop for the cocktails, which speak for themselves – each with its unique tale that your pleasant server will tell you when it is brought to your table. The modest décor highlights the rich history of the Grade II listed building in which Ikigai is housed. At the same time, original exposed brick and industrial windows provide charm and character, and Tokyo Lo-Fi background music offers a perfect contrast. If you’re looking for sake, Ikigai is one of just a few Birmingham establishments that can offer it hot or cold in traditional containers. For a more personalized experience, Omakase allows you to order a drink from the menu tailored to your preferences by picking an alcohol, flavor, and length/style. The bar may be hired for informal parties and private events for up to 40 people.

Flight Club Birmingham

Flight Club Birmingham is the home of unexpected, absurd delight and the origin of Social Darts. Flight Club has redefined darts for the twenty-first century by creating various fast-paced, multiplayer activities to bring people together. But it’s not only about darts; it’s also about having fun! Flight Club Birmingham, located on Temple Street, has a stunning bar ideal for lunch, brunch, and drink catch-ups! Take a stroll along Temple Street to locate one of the city’s most eccentric pubs. Book an oche, have a few cocktails, eat some pizza, and get ready for some intensely competitive and completely interactive darts. The team behind Social Darts, Flight Club, has reimagined darts for the twenty-first century with fast-paced, multiplayer games that connect people for unexpected, absurd fun.

Among the hustle and bustle of Temple Street, the décor of Flight Club Birmingham brilliantly mixes the tradition of darts, the warmth of the British pub, and the thrill of the carnival, all with a distinctive twist and a homage to Birmingham’s heritage. From lights that dance to the music to carnival horses and stained glass windows, you’ll know you’ve entered a Flight Club! There are 13 oches (darts playing spaces) to choose from, so if you want to kick back and enjoy the vibe of the bar area, there’s plenty of room. With a menu of seasonally inspired shared plates, pizza paddles, and delectable drinks (no trip is complete without a trademark slushie), it’s a winning place for lunch, brunch, and every cocktail-fueled catch-up in between. The service was excellent, thanks to our waiters.

Ty and Zara, who made sure our drinks were topped up and provided ideas for cocktails we would enjoy. We had a two-hour darts reservation, and with six players, the time flew by; we could have played for hours. It appeals to your competitive side and offers a wide range of games to appeal to everyone. We remained for a few more beers after our game since we liked the buzzer at the table for calling for help. Blue light discounts are also accepted, making an already low-cost event even more affordable. I stopped in for some drinks on a Saturday night and was amazed by how large it was inside, given how little it seemed from the outside. It offers a terrific environment, good music, and delicious drinks. I liked how the carousel rice paper was placed on the cocktail.

Be At One Birmingham

Be At One BirminghamBe At One, known for employing some of the top bartenders in the business, doesn’t fool around when it comes to cocktail bars in Birmingham city center. Head here for a fantastic 2-4-1 happy hour and inventive cocktails – the Irish Disco Biscuit is excellent for the sweet-toothed. The famous London bar chain has stretched its wings and brought the party and all of its famous specialties to Piccadilly Arcade in the heart of Birmingham. Those who are unfamiliar with Be At One will be enticed by a nearly unbeatable 2-4-1 happy hour, a lengthy list of cleverly named cocktails – such as the ‘Porn Star Martini’ and ‘Irish Disco Biscuit’ – and several frivolous cocktail masterclasses based on a variety of different international spirits.

Even better, Be At One Birmingham has a late license, so the dancing and general unfettered debauchery may continue into the early hours of the morning. Leave your worries at the door, get a well-made cocktail, and let your hair down at one of Birmingham’s most popular late-night party places, with an incredible line-up of DJs playing all your favorite party music. Private hire of second room potentially available on selected dates. Not available on Saturdays. Great place with good music, a great atmosphere, and friendly and fun staff. Sunday afternoon may be the best time to visit because it can be quiet. However, the personnel went out of their way to get the customers engaged and enjoying themselves; by dancing, singing, and creating a massive conga line around the bar. Fantastic place to visit pretty much every day of the week; you will always get something out of it, and the staff will ensure it! Incredibly inclusive and LGBT+ friendly, from what I have seen on several occasions. Highly recommend it. However, I don’t think this place needs my endorsement because they’re doing exceptionally well anyway! The best club in Birmingham, it’s official!

Even though the river is now concealed from view, its pulse continues to imbue the region’s creative energy. Digbeth’s hardworking history would not exist without the Rea. And Birmingham would not have become a creative center (typified in the 18th century Lunar Society, so named because they met every full moon). Digbeth’s industry, inventiveness, and enthusiasm are honored at Luna Springs. Return to the source and continue to be a wild moon child. Luna Springs, a relatively recent addition to Birmingham’s nightlife, has sprouted up near Digbeth’s iconic Custard Factory.

The outdoor setting is ideal for soaking up some sunshine in summer’s (supposed) heat. With a roster of activities ranging from disco to bingo and street food, it’s a terrific location to chill out and work your way through the unlimited brunch drinks. The name Luna Springs is derived from two sources: the River Rea, which runs through the city, and the 18th Century Lunar Society, a group of creatives who convened during the full moon. So far, so esoteric. The open-air event Luna Springs, located on the site of the old Digbeth Arena, celebrates Digbeth’s industry, creativity, and energy, asking revelers to party and “go wild, moonchild.” Live music, sports, bottomless breakfasts, and moonlight movie screenings are all available. What is there not to like? So, this is one of the best bars Birmingham has to offer you.

Whether you are searching to chow down on a succulent beef burger or gobble a plate of mac ‘n’ cheese, there are plenty of dishes to choose from.

Are you feeling thirsty? Opt for one of their tropical cocktails and a glass of bubbly. It’s been a rough couple of years, but if one thing has prospered in recent months, it’s our fantastic Brummie eateries. And this pub and restaurant are up there with the most Instagrammable spots in town. We know it’s a bold statement. The gorgeous pink paradise 202 Kitchen was previously located on Pitsford Street in the Jewellery Quarter, but it has recently relocated to The Arcadian Centre, which is more centrally located. And if their JQ location was any indication, their new city center site pulls out all the stops to present guests with that all-important ‘social media moment.’ We think they’ve attained Instagram stardom with their soft-hued baby pink walls and bright pink lights.

The venue’s attractive rooms range from a sumptuous lounge room to a gorgeous location draped with tropical flora. At their new site, you can anticipate a beachy atmosphere and a homage to Miami Vice and Grand Theft Auto, sans the criminal activities (unless it’s unlawful to eat too many chicken wings) and more lovely, pink décor. Despite this, the comfort food attracts our attention, with a trap box-inspired menu full of drool-worthy delicacies like ribs, fried chicken, wings, mac & cheese, and more. For those unfamiliar with the trap box fad, it all started on social media, as amateur cooks would go to their platforms to upload delicious-looking photos of their handmade chow heaped into a box. 202 Kitchen now delivers substantial meals cooked by experienced chefs as well as outstanding small dishes, placing the focus on the flavors and paying tribute to their gourmet inspiration.
