The Avery

The Avery is a speakeasy-style bar offering handcrafted cocktails & a long list of beers in a dark & cozy setting. Check out The Avery on the West Side for another speakeasy-style cocktail bar. The Avery is the West Side’s neighborhood bar. They feature a stunning design, a great atmosphere, and flawless service. Their drink menu is a great starting point, but ask your server for their recommendations. Because of COVID-19, they are only open for outside seating. The exterior of the building looks residential, and the windows are darkened, so patrons may be surprised when they walk in to find a gorgeous cocktail lounge with wood-carved walls and velvet booths. The Avery has a fantastic selection of fancy cocktails and craft beers—they boast a list of 40 beers and over 60 different whiskeys.

With friendly bartenders who commit to quality drink making, you can be sure to have a good time in this vintage neighborhood bar. Fun fact: this is an authentic speakeasy, and the location has featured a bar since the Prohibition era. In a dark and quiet environment, this speakeasy-style pub serves handmade drinks and a vast range of beers. The Avery is tucked away in a quiet residential area in West Providence. But within, there’s a stunning varnished wood interior with illuminated art-nouveau wood cutouts. A unique take on a neighborhood tavern! The Avery is physically situated in a residential area. It’s a great location! Relax and unwind. A little retro speakeasy feels. Basic cocktails and martinis are available, as well as some oldies but favorites.

Last Word, Old Fashioned, SideCar, Paper Plane. It’s worth a shot before or after supper. Cheers! Art Deco-style bar. On Tuesday evening, we came to a halt, and it was a freezing, if not slightly gloomy, environment. They offer an excellent drink menu, and the atmosphere is fantastic, with excellent tin ceiling tiles and spectacular laser cuts at the bar. A great place to unwind on a date or with a small group. Cozy (read: extremely tiny) bar – Excellent Cocktails – Cool vibe My fave local hangout! Great sentiments from the customers, and ALWAYS good service from the employees. The drinks are excellent, and the staff goes out of their way to accommodate you. I recommend Avery to my friends when I’m in the West End. So, this is one of the best bars Providence has to offer you!

The Eddy

The Eddy is a classy, small cocktail bar in the center of downtown Providence. The cocktail bar offers traditional and inventive drinks and interesting nibbles in a stylish, softly lighted setting. This restaurant is one of my favorites because of its continuously changing menu, tranquil setting, and upscale bar food selections. Step inside from the cold of New England to enjoy a customized beverage created by a professional bartender. The French Pearl (Hayman’s Old Tom Gin, St. George Absinthe, mint, and lime) and the Ruby Tuesday are two of my faves on their menu (hibiscus-infused pisco, Aperol, mango, and lime). As far as food goes, you can not go wrong with some classic Rhode Island seafood or a highly curated charcuterie board. Bon appetit!

The cocktail bar offers traditional and inventive drinks and interesting nibbles in a stylish, softly lighted setting. Cozy and out-of-the-way, this is Providence’s best small-seat cocktail bar. Their exotic liqueurs, housemade cordials, and aptly-named concoctions cannot be matched. Local beers, wines, and small house made plates round out the menu. The Eddy serves Providence’s classiest cocktail combinations, a substantial assortment of on-tap and bottled beers, and an impressive wine list. Nothing let this palette down! Super chill spot with wonderful snacks, cuisine, and beverages. The bartenders are kind and deliver excellent service. You won’t be sorry if you pay a visit here! If you want to drink, Eddy’s is the place to go. In any case, they have relatively few food alternatives. Because it was so gloomy, the mood felt unattractive.

I’ve also observed a personnel scarcity. We went there to celebrate my friend’s birthday. However, I felt that I had destroyed my birthday dinner arrangements. My girlfriend and I came here looking for a sound bar environment. Eddy exceeded our expectations. It was pretty charming and comfy, and the beverages were fantastic. The little bread and meat pieces were ideal for a snack. I’ve been here multiple times, and I’m always blown away by how amazing this place is. Cocktails. This is what they are known for. If you’re getting a beer, you’re missing out big time! Yea, it’s a bit expensive. But what you do is hands down one of the best cocktails you will have. Orange Julius Caesar is my favorite. Food. Come on now. I didn’t expect much, but I was oh so wrong. Cuban sliders? Divine. I order them every time now. Guacamole? Yea, you guessed it. Delicious.

Courtland Club

The Courtland Club is a live music venue, cocktail bar, and social club. Most evenings, we feature live DJ sets with the best local talent performing various tracks from various eras, genres, and locations, as well as Live Jazz every Sunday night. Pull over to listen to music, take a drink, and meet new people. The first visit to Courtland Club might be a little mysterious. With no signage and only a keypad on the front door, guests are left wondering what’s on the other side of the door and how they got inside in the first place. Turn the knob, and they’ll be waiting to greet you. Nothing makes us happier than witnessing people’s faces light up the first time they discover and appreciate Courtland Club. For a naughty social club with a warm and lively atmosphere, you can’t go wrong with the Courtland Club.

Located in a nondescript building (Providence sure does love its speakeasies), this space serves as both a cocktail bar and performance venue. Enjoy a sophisticated bar menu with items like a “funky shrimp cocktail” or a pork cutlet sandwich. The cocktail menu is abuzz with new and original flavors, and the Courtland Club’s beer and wine selection are fantastic. Suppose this seems like your place; come by on Sunday for live jazz and a luscious beverage while taking in the warm exposed brick vibe. This speakeasy is a hidden gem in the heart of the West End, serving creative drinks and pub grub. We came here late Friday night for a few beers and appetizers. My friend had previously visited here, but this was my first time.

From the outside, it seemed to be a bar; I asked myself, “Are you sure that’s a bar?” But once inside, it was fantastic! There is live music and a DJ. The vibes were great, and the beverages and food were delicious. The bartenders were lovely as well. Recommend this place! I was at a small party, and we had dinner at an open bar. The service was outstanding. I cannot emphasize how wonderful each one of the staff was. The meal was fantastic! We ate appetizers, but the rest of the menu also looked excellent (I will be going back to try). The drinks were highly innovative and nicely balanced in flavor and alcohol. An excellent enjoyable place with a good atmosphere/crowd. The food and beverages were delicious, and the atmosphere was one-of-a-kind.

Ogie’s Trailer Park

Ogie’s Trailer Park is a restaurant & bar with kitschy trailer park–inspired decor serving American comfort food & cocktails. Check out Ogie’s Trailer Park in the Federal Hill neighborhood for a funky, eclectic time. Hit Granny Boo’s Kitchen Window for some craving-satisfying bar comfort food, and then head to the bar for a cocktail or pint of beer. Ogie’s Trailer Park has a bit of a tropical twist, so their cocktail menu features beverages like Mai Tais, Pina Coladas, and Blue Hawaiians. When it gets colder outside, try the Mexican hot chocolate with rum. This place is a top pick for letting loose at night, but Ogie’s also has a great brunch menu if you’re ever looking to plan a boozy mid-morning get-together. A restaurant and bar with quirky trailer park decor serve American comfort cuisine and beverages—excellent environment and music.

I ordered the Southern Rhody Fried Chicken and a Blue Hawaiian tiki cocktail. While the chicken was a touch bland, it was incredibly crispy, which I like. The drink was delicious. I certainly recommend paying a visit! Such a wonderful ambiance, unique cocktails, and fantastic bartenders. The tots are also lethal. The chicken sandwich was excellent. Nothing out of the ordinary, but the food and beverages were reasonably priced. The restaurant smelt a little, but the mood was pleasant. The 60s theme was great! An excellent spot to stop for a quick dinner at the end of a hard day. The vegetarian burgers are fantastic, and the bar has a good selection. You may sit inside, outdoors in the front, or in the quieter rear portion.

The personnel is quite lovely, and the design is vibrant throughout. It is a simple location to bring children. This venue was a lot of fun! This restaurant had been highlighted on the Phantom Gourmet, and it seemed like a lot of fun! It surpassed my expectations! The decor is a blast from the past, and it was fun to walk around and see items we had in our homes as kids. The food was beyond good. Comfort food with a twist! The Doritio Chicken sandwich was fantastic! We can’t wait to go back! What a fun find! Fabulous 50’s throwback, backyard trailer park, comfort food, and hang out. Laid back, a great bar, and self-serve order your food. Tater tots, burgers, grilled cheese, etc. Offbeat and great atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed.

Justine’s

Justine’s is an unassuming lounge mixing unique cocktails in a stylish space with moody lighting & a speakeasy vibe. This sexy speakeasy will awaken all of your flapper girl fantasies. Sneakily tucked in the back of a lingerie store in the artsy Olneyville neighborhood, this classy cocktail bar will surely provide you with a sensual and adventurous evening. In terms of menu, this bar features some classic and delicious cocktails, including Manhattans, Sloe Gin Fizzes, and Ward 8s. Not only are their drinks fantastic, but they come at a fraction of the prices you would see at a New York City cocktail bar. Stop by Justine’s for an after-dinner cocktail to soak in the cozy and luxurious atmosphere. Manikins in sensual lingerie are displayed in the front window. When you go in, it’s softly lit, and the bar is hidden behind a curtain if you’re not looking for lingerie.

Elegantly simple. Good beverages and a relaxed atmosphere. My cocktail was crafted to perfection by the bartender. Most drinks were $8, while the house specialties didn’t cost more than $12. If you want to snack while you enjoy the surroundings and your drinks, there is a relatively limited menu of options. The bar is charming, and the area has some highly excellent seats and seating options. I’ll surely return. Once inside, this is a fun spot with an informal neighborhood pub atmosphere. It has a speakeasy feel, but doesn’t anticipate glam. However, the beverages are delicious! Cozy little spot! Found out they have a back patio too, which is fantastic.

The drinks were great, the vibes were good. The decor was adorable, and the drinks were fantastic. One of the Manhattans I’ve ever had! I stopped for a quick drink after dinner and had a lovely time. It looks like a lingerie shop from the street, but once you enter, you are greeted by a guy checking IDs. You then pull the curtain aside and walk into a very charming bar. This is an excellent spot for both a group of friends or an intimate date. The swanky, relaxed vibe and delicious cocktails! So this is presented as a storefront, and you must ring a Bell to be admitted. The inside decor reminds me of an actual speakeasy from the 1920s. There are velvet seats, unique fresh flowers, and chill jazz music. It’s a must-see! So, Justine’s is one of the best bars in the city!

Built-in 1902, the structure was formerly the Douglas Avenue Fire Station, which housed Union Hook and Ladder Company No. 3.

The bar, a meticulous relic of decades past, was built in Chicago in 1888 out of solid mahogany and has served saloon clients from San Francisco to Nevada to Arizona. We found the historic gem in a Denver storage facility and had it transferred 2,000 miles to Providence. Sit at the bar and take in its original beauty, except for several bullet holes sustained by the structure over 100 years ago. The bar and nightlife are just as crucial as Ladder 133 Kitchen & Social cuisine. The extensive beer menu features twenty-two draught choices on tap and dozens of bottled options, focusing on craft beers. Ladder 133 kitchen & Social also serves a variety of alcohol and handcrafted drinks. The Stable

The Stable is a small, gay-friendly cocktail bar with an equestrian theme, plus backyard seating. The Stable is a Providence gay bar situated downtown close to the city’s bustling gay nightlife scene. This quaint neighborhood gay spot features a cocktail bar, equestrian-inspired decor, and a secluded outdoor seating area. Locals and visitors favor The Stable for its friendly bartenders, occasional live music performances, and relaxed setting. Always a fun time at the Stable. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Good guys who aren’t pretentious. Great music! And a great outdoor patio in the summer. Stable is just a great place! At The Stable, the bartenders are excellent and couldn’t be nicer. The music is on point and highly recommended!

Not as rough as the name implies, the stable caters to a classier, older crowd, with an intimate outdoor patio and an excellent cocktail list. I have been coming here on and off for the past 14 years. An excellent gay bar is one of my favorite places to stop after work! The Neon Rainbows IPA is worth it. One of my new favorite beers! All well welcome here from all lifestyles and ethnic backgrounds. I’ve never had to put that in something in my life until this time in our lives. Upscale, friendly crowd, great staff, incredible drinks, reasonable prices, clean bathrooms, what else do you want? It’s a great place to go with the outside back patio when weather permits. It seems like a nice place. We should have sampled the beer before buying; we didn’t like either one of the two chosen.

Excellent service-the bartenders were so fabulous and super friendly. They have the best sangria in providence. I love this bar. As a straight couple, we come with a few single gay friends. It’s always warm and inviting. Very tasteful as well. They make THE BEST sangria, EVER! It’s on the small side, but they have a patio. Do yourself a favor and try sangria, and dance the night away to great music. Incredibly friendly staff. I moved here a month ago, and I’ve come every day to read my books and made many sweet, lovely friends. Everyone is welcoming and wants people to have a good time and be friendly with others. Drinks are relatively cheap and of excellent quality—no watering down. Lovely patio shared with viva Mexico.

The Dean Bar

The Dean Bar

Located inside The Dean Hotel, a high-end hotel in the city’s historic district, the Dean Bar has a relaxed European vibe and that perfect intimate cocktail lounge aesthetic that you love to see in hotels. If you want to feel like you are on a romantic getaway in Ireland or Paris, this is the place to go. Enjoy an old-school cocktail while chatting quietly with friends (or lovers). One of my favorite drinks of theirs is the Mango Caipirinha, a fruity cocktail that incorporates West African rum. Although Providence is a smaller city, there is still quite a bit of global culture, and the Dean Bar demonstrates that. Head over to this moody cocktail lounge for a taste of worldly sophistication. The Dean Bar is a small and discreet cocktail lounge evocative of classic European hotel bars. Tonight, meet friends, strangers, and lovers at The Dean Bar.

The menu will include classics, including the Boukman Daiquiri, Espresso Martini, and The Blinker. House specialties will also be served. They include the Saint Xanda, an elevated gin and tonic made with Cucumber Infused Rhodium Gin; Shoyu The Way made with dry sake and ISCO Vodka; and Milk Punch made with Chairman’s reserve spiced rum, Maison Rouge Cognac V.S., Amaretto, Tempus Fugit Creme de Cacao, allspice dram, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, lemon, and milk. An excellent bar tucked into the Dean Hotel. There’s an excellent FINE sign to take a photo with before entering. You enter in complete darkness and turn to the right and make your way through the curtain to a relaxed and mysterious speakeasy vibe.

It’s intimate, and the serving staff is attentive—a nice candle lit spot for a date or a night out with friends. Jungle animals in the forest adorned the walls adding to the relaxed vibe. COVID proof of vaccination is required. Drinks: My gin/vodka-based cocktail was quite strong with the alcohol and relatively dry, but I liked the flavor profile. One of the other guests had specific requests for a particular drink, and the staff was flexible and attentive. Tips/Takeaways: Proof of vaccination required and Fun for a date night or intimate night with friends. Very cool bar in the Dean Hotel that’s tucked away. The dark ambiance and overall vibe were calm, with a kind of speakeasy tone. The drinks were decent, a good selection of beers, one cider, and wines. The cocktails were tailored towards more whiskey, bourbon, and rye, with a few others mixed in.
