The Exchange

The Exchange is a community-based venue for live comedy, concerts, and private events with an on-site bistro and bar. The Exchange, located in the Cultural Quarter of Leicester, is an ‘eclectic and bohemian’ pub with pleasant décor and a welcoming environment. This is also where you can get some of the most excellent coffee in Leicester, albeit their primary focus is on their collection of wines, beers, ciders, and sparkling beverages. Visit The Exchange for a casual drink with friends or a meal from their breakfast, lunch, and supper menus. They are located in the center of the Culture Quarter, directly across from the Curve Theater, and provide a wide variety of hot and soft beverages and a comprehensive beer and wine selection. They also have a light breakfast and lunch menu available.

Since 2011, the Exchange Bar has served as the social focus of Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. Following a temporary shutdown in 2019, the Exchange Bar has returned with a fantastic selection of craft brew, gin, wine, coffee, and now, cuisine – new for 2020. The Exchange seems like an extension of your living room when you walk in. Cozy sofas, mismatched tables and chairs, and, most importantly, a welcoming grin. Everyone is made to feel at ease. The drink menu is diverse enough to satisfy all preferences while remaining approachable. Choose from a variety of draught and bottled beers, peruse the bottles of spirits neatly lined up on the shelves (including a superb range of gin), or relax with a glass of wine.

If you’re hungry, try something from the dessert menu—everything from bagels to American pancakes, mezze boards, and even breakfast selections. Host your party in one of their two accessible rooms – for free! Come in and talk to the staff; they even provide catering services to make your party the finest in town. If you’ve gone before, you’ll be familiar with the homely vibe on offer. Still, if you haven’t been before, you’re in for a treat – come along and enjoy the relaxed back environment and varied elements that make it one of Leicester’s most incredible venues. I stopped for a bite to eat and a coffee while writing emails. It was a wonderful experience. Excellent meal and service. Ideal for a business lunch. Jake, the server, was accommodating and gave me excellent advice on what to get from the menu.
