A Video of El Convento Rico Club Toronto

Latin nightspot welcoming all sexualities offers drag performance and Friday night dance. In 1992 El Convento Rico nightclub opened its doors as a safe haven for the LGBT community, and we have been breaking down barriers ever since. Welcoming people from all walks to enjoy our amazing drag shows and unique mix of Latin and Top 40 music, we give customers an experience like no other and make their special events memorable. It is situated on the strip of college known for its nightlife. There’s also the winding trundling streetcar route and the somewhat treacherous bike lanes right outside, making this place super easy to get to for non-driving clubbers, ideal for intoxication. Red carpets and heat lamps outside complete the exclusive club feel. Down the stairs, this club is a low ceilinged, strobe, dark and mysterious wonderland, light stripes flashing on the ceiling, Latin songs and remixes pounding from the sound system.

This is Toronto’s longest running Latino drag bar and it has always been a safe haven for the LGBTQIA community. El Convento Rico is a basement club located in Toronto’s Little Italy neighborhood. Be prepared to see some gorgeous queens shake it to the Latin beat as well as one of the most diverse crowds of any club in Toronto. Absolutely everyone is welcomed and there is no official dress code so say goodbye to pretense. Revel in the false eyelashes, grab a martini and shake what your mama gave you. It’s the right thing to do.

Very enjoyable! Great Music! Great Fun! Drag show is very awesome due to fantastic music, fun and nice people. El Convento Rico is known for their legendary drag shows that start every Saturday at half past midnight, as well as Latin dance classes and shows, and male revues. The atmosphere is friendly and MC and DJ ensure that happens all night long. The drag queen show that happens at 1am is very entertaining. It’s loud and fun all night long with a mix of legal ages. If you don’t know how to salsa, meringue, or cha-cha, you can pick up the basics at the Friday-night dance lessons, but even if you don’t learn, no one on the jam-packed dance floor will notice. What a great spot for dancing! Great music, not super crowded either. Mixed crowded with people just happy to be there! Great drag show!
