bar, music, dancing. Here you’re off the beaten track and on the territory of the non-commercial gay scene. The Heldenbar (hero’s bar) which only comes alive on Wednesdays is a purely non-profit affair. Sometimes the DJs are professional, sometimes totally amateur, the style of music changes from week to week.
Here there is a good looking crowd, alternative vibez, and a cool outdoor smoking area on the river. There are always nice people around and the drinks are cheap but still good value. Sadly it’s only open on Wednesday. The music is usually not great at all and it’s very packed most of the time. Fantastic place for a drink especially on Wednesdays. Great place, especially when it is warm enough to be outside. Every Wednesday, cool audience, nice employees, very fair prices and urban / alternative flair, often very busy
The music changes and many good DJs provide rich sounds that you miss in some clubs. You can chill right on the water, especially in summer, or get some fresh air in winter if it gets too hot inside. Super underground club, not a chic mici. The music on Wednesday was always brilliant. A must for people who would like to go out during the week.
